CPP’s Ayana Fields Meets Four Provisional Marks To Earn CCAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week Mar 26, 2024 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal Poly Pomona’s Ayana Fields has been voted the CCAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week (March 18-24). A senior from Los Angeles, Fields had four NCAA Provisional marks in just two days. At the Mangum Invitational in San Marcos, she won the 200m dash in a time of 23.45 and was part of the 4x100m team that took second place with a time of 46.58. She followed that up with a sixth-place finish in the 400m run at the Aztec Invitational with a time of 54.97 and again ran on the 4x100 team, which improved their season-best with a time of 46.46 to take eighth. Both her 200m and 400m times rank first in the CCAA this season. Her 200m time is also tops in NCAA Division II this season while her 400m time ranks seventh nationally. This marks Field’s first CCAA Track Athlete of the Week award this season and her fifth career award. It is also the Broncos’ first Track award this season, having won three times on the Field side. The Broncos will head to the Bay Area this week for the Mike Fanelli Track Classic at San Francisco State and the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto.
