Shutout leads Ashlee Toy to Pioneers’ first CCAA Pitcher of the Week since 2015 Feb 5, 2024 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal State East Bay’s Ashlee Toy has been selected as the CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week for the first week of the 2024 season (Jan. 29-Feb. 3). Toy pitched a shutout in her Pioneers’ debut to lead Cal State East Bay to a 6-0 win over Azusa Pacific. Toy went all seven innings, allowing just six hits and no walks while striking out three. Her teammates put up five runs in the top of the second, and she never allowed the Cougars to get back in the game. Only once did the Lodi native allow two runners in the same inning, and she retired the final eight batters she faced. Toy is the first Pioneer to earn CCAA Pitcher of the Week honors since Emily Perlich in the opening week of the 2015 season. Click here to see a complete list of past award winners.
