Cougars' Madison Waymire earns first CCAA Player of the Week honor of 2024 Feb 5, 2024 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> After an incredible weekend where she put up an OPS of 1.633, Cal State San Marcos’ Madison Waymire has been voted the CCAA Softball Player of the Week (Jan. 29-Feb. 3). Waymire went 9-for-15 in the CUI Kickoff Classic to earn all-tournament honors and help No. 7 ranked Cal State San Marcos begin the season at 4-1. Waymire collected hits in all five contests, including three multi-hit performances. The Rancho Cucamonga native began the season with a three-hit performance against Chaminade. She drove in a run in the game and had five RBI on the weekend. Four of her nine hits went from extra bases (two doubles, a triple, and a home run). She scored runs in each game, including back-to-back games against Montana State Billings, where she crossed the plate three times in each contest. It is Waymire's first career CCAA Player of the Week award. Click here to see the complete list of CCAA Softball weekly award winners. Cal State San Marcos will host four games this week. Montana State Billings will be San Marcos for a doubleheader on Friday and Adelphi will be there on Sunday. Both doubleheaders are scheduled to start at Noon.
