Cal State San Bernardino’s Alexis White was voted as the first CCAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for the 2024 outdoor season.
White posted a new program record, by nearly eight seconds, in the 600-meter run in a time of 1:36.91 as she and the Coyotes won the Riverside CC Early Bird Invitational. The junior from San Bernardino was also a leg on the winning 4x100-meter relay team, which posted the victorious time of 47.25 seconds.
In the 600-meter run, White bested runner-up finisher Joelle Tonne, running unattached, by more than five seconds (1:42.06).
She then teamed up with Mahlaya Salter, Kyndahl Carter and Hailey Hunt in the 4x100 relay and raced first to the finish line.
White now holds two CSUSB program records (400m and 600m) and is part of two other program bests on relay teams. This is White’s second career CCAA Track Athlete of the Week award. She picked up the final one awarded in 2023 on April 25.
CSUSB participates next at the Rossi Relays, on Feb. 24, in Claremont.
