Coyotes’ Mia Escujuri named CCAA Softball Player of the Week

Cal State San Bernardino’s Mia Escujuri has been selected as the CCAA Softball Player of the Week (Feb. 12-18). 

Escujuri hit .500 with a .813 slugging percentage over a busy week for the Cougars. She collected hits in all six games, capping it with a three-hit, three-RBI game against San Francisco State. Escujuri finished the weekend with two doubles, a home run, eight RBI and four walks. 

The sophomore utility player performed best in CCAA play. When San Francisco State came to town, Escujuri went 6-for-11 with three extra-base hits and all eight RBI. She drove in multiple runs in three of the four games, including the finale where she was 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored. 

Escujuri is second in the conference and 37th in NCAA Division II with a .542 batting average. She is also among the CCAA leaders in slugging and on-base percentage. Click here to see the CCAA player leaderboard
