After a pair of dominant outings against No. 14 Adelphi, Cal State San Marcos’ Savannah Coyle has been named the CCAA Pitcher of the Week (Feb. 5-11).

Coyle went nine innings over two appearances allowing three hits and no runs. She walked only one and struck out four.

After her team had scored to take a 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Coyle entered the game with one on and no out in the top of the seventh. She forced a pop-up before beginning a double-play punch out to claim her second save of the season.

In the nightcap, Coyle out-pitched the 2023 NFCA Division II Pitcher of the Year, going the distance to earn the shutout with eight innings in the circle. The junior from Oceanside retired the side five of the eight innings, with two of the other innings ending on double plays.

Coyle now sits fourth in the CCAA with a 0.97 earned run average after throwing the second-most innings in the league (21.2). She is also fourth in strikeouts (14) and is the only person to record more than one save this season. Click here to see the CCAA player leaderboard
