Ayana Fields picks up her second Women’s Track Athlete of the Week award of the season

Ayana Fields of Cal Poly Pomona has received the CCAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week award for the second time.

At the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific, Fields won the 200-meter run in 23.05, the fastest time recorded in Division II this season. The junior from Los Angeles then excelled as the anchor of the relay teams at Mt. SAC. The Broncos — with Fields, Jaelyn Thomas, Ari Milton, Yuna Queniat — set a new school record in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:42.21. In the 4x100, CPP won its group in 46.01 seconds.

Fields was named the Athlete of the Week on April 4. This is her sixth career weekly award after earning the honor four times in 2022.

Cal Poly Pomona competes next at the Steve Scott Invitational, April 28-28, at UC Irvine before the CCAA Championships at Cal State San Marcos, May 4-6.
