The junior from Udine, Italy, cleared 17-4.5 (5.30m) to win the Bryan Clay Invitational by nearly four inches. It was the second-best mark of his career, topped only by the 17-7 (5.36m) he posted two weeks ago at the West Coast Relays. Madrassi continues to sit in the top spot on the 2023 NCAA Performance List. He is one of just seven pole vaulters in NCAA Div. II to clear 17 feet this season. This is the third CCAA Field Athlete of the Week award this season for Madrassi. He became the first Broncos’ pole vaulter ever to win CCAA Field Athlete of the Week honors earlier this year. Cal Poly Pomona is on a competition hiatus until the end of April. The Broncos will return to the track on April 28-29 at the Steve Scott Invitational in their final meet before they defend their team title at the 2023 CCAA Championships.
