Cal State Monterey Bay’s Alyssa Burt has been voted the CCAA Softball Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 20-26.

The first baseman hit .615 (8-of-13) on the weekend and collected a pair of hits in every game of the series against Stanislaus State. Burt registered game-winning RBIs in two of the three Otter victories and finished the series with two doubles and four RBI.

In the first game of the series, the Garden Grove native (Pacifica HS) provided the walk-off single in the bottom of the seven as the Otters completed the comeback. She finished the game 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, and an RBI out of the cleanup spot.

She also provided the game-winning RBI in the series finale when she doubled into the gap in the fourth inning to score Ally Alcayaga with what would be the game-winning run. She also got the Otters on the board first with an RBI single in the second inning.

With her eight-hit weekend, Burt raised her season average from .244 to .297.

Burt is the first Otter softball student-athlete to earn CCAA Player of the Week honors since Ally Alcayaga on the opening weekend of the 2022 season.

Cal State Monterey Bay will play in the Tournament of Champions this week on Turlock. The Otters will face two opponents from the GNAC and three from the PacWest.
