San Francisco State freshman Macaria Moore-Bastide has been named CCAA Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, for the week of March 13-19.
Making her collegiate debut in outdoor track, the rookie from San Diego placed third in the high jump at the Stanford Cardinal Classic in Palo Alto. Moore-Bastide was the top Division II finisher with a clearance of 1.70 meters (5-foot-7). The NCAA provisional qualifying mark also ranks her atop of the Division II performance list.
Moore-Bastide was coming off her first indoor track and field season where she was an All-American in the event. She was eighth (1.72m) at the Indoor Track & Field Championships earlier this month.
SF State will host the Mike Fanelli Track Classic at Cox Stadium, March 30-April 1
