CPP's Ryan Fields claims eighth career CCAA Track Athlete of the Week award Mar 14, 2023 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> There is a familiar name listed as this week's CCAA Track Athlete of the Week. Cal Poly Pomona's Ryan Fields earned his first CCAA weekly honor of 2023 and the eighth of his career. Fields sealed his personal best in the 400m with a provisional mark time of 47.27 at the Ben Brown Invitational. The junior from Los Angeles now holds three provisional marks and is in first place in the NCAA Division II national rankings in the 400m, 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles. He took third place in the 400m at the meet and placed second in the 110m hurdles (14.24). Fields won two CCAA Track Athlete of the Week honors during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. He added five more last year. Cal Poly Pomona will be off this week before resuming its season at the Cougar Invitational, hosted by Cal State San Marcos on Mar. 25. The event will serve as a preview meet for the 2023 CCAA Championships.
