Grace Kasberger of Cal Poly Humboldt was the runner-up in the heptathlon at Chico’s Multi-Event Classic, earning her the CCAA Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Kasberger, the reigning CCAA champion in the heptathlon, scored 4,062 points to finish second behind Fresno Pacific’s Brianna Green.

Kasberger, a junior from Prineville, Ore., posted a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 32 feet, 4 ¾ inches to top the field in the field.

Kasberger also posted two second place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (16.33 seconds) and the 800-meter run (2:30.21). She was also third in the high jump (4 feet, 10 ½ inches).

Cal Poly Humboldt returns to action at the annual Kim Duyst Invitational at Stanislaus State this weekend.
