Cal State LA’s Destiny Moedano has been named the CCAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, for the week of Feb. 20-26.

Moedano, a Golden Eagle soccer student-athlete making her debut on the track at the home Cal State LA Invitational, won the 800-meter run on Saturday in a time of 2:26.22. A sophomore from Oceanside, Moedano was a track athlete at El Camino High School.

In the early-goings of the outdoor track season, after two weekends, Moedano’s is currently the 12th best time in Division II and the third best time in the CCAA.

The outdoor track season really heats up this weekend in Turlock at the annual Kim Duyst Invitational, where Cal State LA will compete among most of the teams from the CCAA.
