Cougars' Savannah Coyle captures conference Pitcher of the Week honors Feb 27, 2023 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal State San Marcos’ Savannah Coyle captured the CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of Feb. 20-26. Coyle appeared in all four games for No. 6 Cal State San Marcos in its series victory over Cal State East Bay. The sophomore left-hander went 14 innings, earning a win and a save. She allowed four runs and seven hits over her time in the circle while striking out four. In Saturday’s doubleheader, she went seven innings to pick up the win in the opener. She allowed just one run and five hits. She then closed out the series finale, as she was called out of the bullpen with the bases loaded and two outs. She got the only batter she faced to ground out to earn her first save of the season. Coyle now ranks third in the CCAA with a 1.05 earned run average. Opponents are hitting just .203 off her (seventh CCAA), and she is tied for fifth in wins (five). The three wins over Cal State East Bay has the Cougars at 7-1 in the conference and 10-3 overall. They will host Chico State (7-5, 2-2 CCAA) in a four-game series starting on Friday, March 3.
