Seven CCAA teams, 13 individuals earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors

In late January, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced seven CCAA teams and 13 student-athletes earned All-Academic honors for the 2022 NCAA Division II Cross Country season.
 
Cal Poly Humboldt, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State San Bernardino, Chico State, and San Francisco State all qualified for the honor with cumulative team grade point averages of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and compile a team score at their regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
 
This was the sixth consecutive season for Cal State East Bay to earn team All-Academic honors. Cal Poly Pomona and San Francisco State are tied for the second-longest streaks at four seasons apiece. Chico State has won three consecutive years and six of the last seven. Cal Poly Humboldt has also captured the honor the last three seasons. Click here to see all the USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams.
 
Cal State East Bay and Chico State each had five student-athletes earn All-Academic honors. Leza Cassidy (Sociology), Alyssa Escay (Business Administration), Claire Fisher (Early Childhood Education), Melissa Sosa (Criminal Justice), and Chase Worthen (Reading and Literacy MS) all earned the honor for the Pioneers. The Wildcats were represented on the exclusive USTFCCCA team by Jaclyn Denham (Exercise Physiology), Gracie Dupuis (Exercise Physiology), Katie Hawley (Criminal Justice), Hannah Ryan (Kinesiology), and Hannah Tiffany (Computer Science).
 
The final three spots for the CCAA went to Cal Poly Humboldt's Rosa Granados (Social Work), Cal Poly Pomona's Angie Arellano (Kinesiology), and Cal State Monterey Bay's Kseniya Nikanorov (Environmental Science). Click here to see all the USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes.
 
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
