Sonoma State’s Nichole Sarra was voted the CCAA Pitcher of the Week for the week of Feb. 13-19.

Sarra made history over the weekend as she not only came away with two wins in the circle, but she ended the series with a historic perfect game, completing all five innings in an eight-run rule victory.

Sarra struck out two batters and got some great defense behind her as she completed the perfect game with only 45 pitches. She recorded five groundouts and eight flyouts. Sarra becomes the first player in program history to pitch a perfect game and joins a list of no more than 25 players to throw a no-hitter.

She pitched two more times during the week, adding nine innings of one-run ball. On Wednesday, she started against Holy Names and went the first three innings, allowing one run and no hits in a game that Sonoma State would win 6-5 in nine innings. In game two of the series against SF State, Sarra went six innings, striking out four batters as SSU won 11-0.

The senior right-hander finished the week 2-0 with 14 innings pitched and one earned run, four hits, seven walks, and six strikeouts.

Sarra is the first CCAA Pitcher of the Week for  Sonoma State since Jesse Dupuis won on April 23, 2022, after throwing a no-hitter against Cal State East Bay.

The Seawolves will return home this week to host Stanislaus State (3-4, 1-3 CCAA) beginning on Friday, Feb. 24.
