Cal Poly Pomona’s Ayana Fields keeps shaving off time in her races as she has been named the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for the fourth time.

Against Division I competition at the Steve Scott Invitational at UC Irvine, Fields captured the win in the 400-meter run in a personal-best time of 54.22 seconds. The sophomore from Los Angeles improved her NCAA Championship provisional qualifying time and moved up to seventh in Division II. Fields continues to lead the CCAA in the event.

As part of the relay team, Fields led the Broncos to a victory in the 4x100-meter race with a time of 46.78 seconds. Cal Poly Pomona already leads the CCAA in the event with a seasonal best of 46.38.

Fields is currently the fastest sprinter in the CCAA, owning the top times in the 100-meter dash (11.48), 200-meter dash (23.83) and the 400-meter run (54.22).

Fields looks to reach the top of the podium in a number of events at the CCAA Track & Field Championships, May 5-8, at San Francisco State.
