Raquel Jaime becomes fourth Toro to collect CCAA Player of the Week honors

Raquel Jaime hit .692 in Cal State Dominguez Hills’ four-game series with Cal State Monterey Bay to earn CCAA Player of the Week honors for the week of April 25-May 1. 

Jaime went 9-for-13 in the series to pace the CCAA in batting average for the weekend. She had three doubles, a home run, three RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base. The senior infielder had hits in all four games of the series.

In Saturday’s doubleheader, Jaime made just one out, and that was a sacrifice fly. In the opening game, she went 4-for-4 with an RBI. In the nightcap, she went 1-for-1 with two walks and the sac fly. 

Jaime finished the regular season second in the CCAA with a .472 on-base percentage and 10th with a .384 batting average. Her 22 walks tied her for third, and she was fifth with 63 hits. 

Cal State Dominguez Hills earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming CCAA Softball Tournament, May 5-8 in Seaside. The Toros will draw tournament hosts and the No. 5 seed Cal State Monterey Bay in the opening round on Thursday, May 5, at 1:30 p.m.
