Ashley Wies collects third CCAA Pitcher of the Week award May 2, 2022 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> For the third time this season, Cal State Dominguez Hills’ Ashley Wies was voted the CCAA Pitcher of the Week. (April 25-May 1) Wies hurled two complete games to earn both of the Toros’ wins against Cal State Monterey Bay. The sophomore right-hander went 2-0 on the weekend, allowing just two runs and 10 hits over 14 innings. She walked four and struck out nine. In the series finale, with the Toros needing a win to earn the series split, Wies threw a four-hit shutout. She struck out five and walked just one. Wies finished the regular season ranked second with 19 wins. She was also ninth in the CCAA in earned run average (2.10), fifth in strikeouts (113), and third in innings pitched (157.0). Cal State Dominguez Hills earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming CCAA Softball Tournament, May 5-8 in Seaside.
