Cal Poly Pomona thrower Keiana Turner has been picked as the Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, for the week of March 28-April 3.

Turner won the collegiate section of the hammer throw at the Stanford Invitational on Saturday with a personal best toss of 50.71 meters (166 feet, 4 inches). The throw is currently the second best record among all CCAA athletes in 2022.  Turner’s mark is the third best recorded in Cal Poly Pomona history.

The sophomore from Riverside also threw the shot put and discus. She posted an 8th place finish in the shot put with a mark of 11.74m (38’ 6.25”) and was ninth in the discus throw with a distance of 32.54m (106’ 9”).

This marks the third consecutive week that a Cal Poly Pomona Bronco has won this weekly award.

Cal Poly Pomona will compete at the Triton Invitational in La Jolla on Saturday, April 9.
