Broncos' Navarrette-Perez captures CCAA Field Athlete of the Week award Apr 5, 2022 Share: Complete list of past winners >>> Cal Poly Pomona’s Dom Navarrette-Perez had a day in the discus circle he will never forget, and it earned him CCAA Field Athlete of the Week honors. The sophomore from Merced posted a mark of 167-6 (51.06) to win the event at the Chabot Invitational. His mark also earned Navarrette-Perez and NCAA Provisional Qualifying Standard and the seventh spot in the CPP record book. He now leads the CCAA and ranks 13th in all of NCAA Division II. Navarrette-Perez also posted a personal record in the hammer with a throw of 148-0 (45.13). He placed fourth in the event, and he leads the CCAA in the discus by over four feet. Navarrette-Perez ranks fifth in the CCAA in the hammer (148-1/45.13m) and eighth in the shot put (47-8.5 (14.54). Cal Poly Pomona will travel to La Jolla for the Triton Invitational on Saturday, April 9.
