For the fourth time this season, Cal Poly Pomona’s Ryan Fields has been selected as the CCAA Track Athlete of the Week. (March 28-April 3)

Fields turned heads at the Stanford Invitational as he won both hurdle races with NCAA provisional qualifying standard times. He opened the meet with a prelims time of 14.06 to move into third place. He would win the 110m hurdles the next day against most Division I opponents with a 14.08 in the finals. Fields now ranks sixth in all of NCAA Division II with that time.

The sophomore from Los Angeles followed that performance with a victory in the 400m hurdles. He won the event with a time of 52.21, which earned him another NCAA provisional qualifying standard.

Fields remain atop the 2022 CCAA Performance List in the 110m and 400m hurdles, and he is second in the 400m (47.98).

Fields also helped the Broncos 4x400m relay team claim the top spot on the 2022 CCAA Performance List as Camden Patterson, Kaelin Moore, Gabriel Zapata and Fields combined to finish third at the Stanford Invite with a time of 3:14.30.

This is the fourth CCAA Track Athlete of the Week award for Fields during the 2022 season and the seventh in his career.
Cal Poly Pomona will travel to La Jolla for the Triton Invitational on Saturday, April 9.
