Alex Robie extended Chico State’s run of CCAA Field Athletes of the Week to three consecutive weeks with his first career selection. (April 18-24)

The multi-event student-athlete posted a season-best clearance of 6-2.75 (1.90 meters) in the high jump and a career-best effort in the javelin 162-9 (49.62m) at Saturday’s Chico Invitational. Both marks currently rank fourth in the CCAA.

Robie was the top collegiate athlete and second overall in the high jump Saturday at University Stadium. The junior from Sacramento was third in the javelin with his personal-record throw of 162-9 (49.62m). That effort bettered his previous best by nearly two meters.

Robie now ranks among the conference’s top 10 in the 110-meter hurdles, high jump, long jump, javelin, and decathlon.

Robie follows teammates Adam Kasten and Cristian Brady in earning CCAA Field Athlete of the Week honors, making the Wildcats the first team to win three in a row since the CCAA Field Athlete of the Week started in 2017.

Chico State is on a competition hiatus until the CCAA Track & Field Championships on May 5-7 at San Francisco State.
