Wells' strong senior season continued Saturday by winning the 800 meter with a two-second PR at the Sac State Invitational at Hornet Stadium. The American River Community College transfer posted the third fastest time in the CCAA this season despite heavy, sustained winds. The effort comes just a week after Wells helped the Wildcats set a new school and meet record in the distance medley relay at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic and a new personal-best time in the 1,500 meters of 3:50.34 (second in the CCAA this season). The Chico State squad will be split this week as they send student-athletes to the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Long Beach Invitational.
