Adam Kasten named the CCAA Field Athlete of the Week Apr 12, 2022 Share: Chico State’s decathlete Adam Kasten was named the CCAA Field Athlete of the Week for the week of April 4-10 after his performance at the Sac State Invitational. Kasten improved his CCAA-best long jump mark with a wind-aided effort of 23-6.25 (7.17 meters) and a non-wind-aided mark of 23-4.5 (7.12m). The junior from Indio had a previous personal record of 23-3.5 (7.10m), which already led the CCAA by over eight inches entering the weekend. Kasten's nearest competitor was over four inches behind Saturday, while his nearest collegiate rival was over a half a foot (.20 meters) back. Kasten also finished third in the triple jump as the Wildcats were just nipped in the team standings by host Sacramento State, 150-137. He becomes the third Wildcat to earn CCAA Field Athlete of the Week honors in 2022 joining teammates Aries Harris and Cristian Brady. The Chico State squad will be split this week as they send student-athletes to the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Long Beach Invitational.
