Stanislaus State’s Kayden Legan has been tabbed as this week’s Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, for the week of Feb. 28-March 6.

The freshman from Oakdale joined an elite group of Stan State distance runners after winning the 10,000-meter run at the Kim Duyst Invitational on Saturday. The invitational was hosted by Stan State at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium.

Legan ran the 10K in 36 minutes, 45.77 seconds in her victory. She led a quartet of Warriors who finished 1-4 in the race while beating the field by 1 minute, 10 seconds. Legan’s time is now the ninth-fastest time in Stanislaus program history. 

The Stanislaus State track team will be in action next at the Wildcat Invitational, March 19, at Chico State.
