Tayler Salley of Cal State San Bernardino has earned this week’s honor as the Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, for the week of Feb. 28-March 6.

For the second straight week, Salley set a new CSUSB school record in the hammer throw as the top Division II finisher at the Beach Opener at Long Beach State.

Salley, a junior from Moreno Valley, threw the hammer 52.93 meters to finish seventh at the meet. The toss of 173 feet, 8 inches is a NCAA provisional qualifying mark the fifth best recorded by a Division II athlete this season.

Salley also finished 18th at the Beach Opener in the discus throw (38.66m, 126’ 10”).
