With four top three finishes, Humboldt’s Joy Hano is Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Cal Poly Humboldt’s Joy Hano has been awarded this week’s Women’s Track Athlete of the Week honor, for the week of March 21-27.

Hano finished in the top three in four events at the Humboldt Invitational last Saturday. She posted a victory in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.85 seconds, the third-fastest time posted in the event among CCAA athletes this season. 

The freshman from San Gabriel also placed second in the long jump with a personal best leap of 5.33 meters (17 feet, six inches), a mark that is seventh-best in the CCAA. She also was a part of the 4x400-meter relay team that took second in 4:02.87. Lastly, Hano was third in the 100-meter dash with a PR of 12.63 seconds. 

Humboldt will compete at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic this weekend at San Francisco State.
