Sonoma State's Jordyn Martinez named CCAA Player of the Week

Jordyn Martinez earned CCAA Player of the Week honors after helping lead Sonoma State to six wins in six days. (March 21-27)

The senior catcher went 10-for-18 (.556 average) at the plate while posting two triples, a home run, five RBI, and three runs scored. The six wins moved the Seawolves into a tie for third place in the CCAA standings. 

Martinez opened the week by going 5-for-8 with a triple, a home run, and three RBI in a doubleheader win over Cal Poly Humboldt. She went on to add hits in all four games of the series against Cal State San Bernardino. 

The Fresno native is now tied for second in the CCAA with 30 runs batted in. She is also tied for third with four triples and is fifth in on-base plus slugging percentage (1.087).

Sonoma State will compete in the Tournament of Champions this weekend before continuing conference play on April 8 at Stanislaus State.
