Brylynn Vallejos collects second CCAA Player of the Week Award for SF State Mar 21, 2022 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> San Francisco State’s Brylynn Vallejos only played in two games this week but she made them count and was named the CCAA Player of the Week for the second time this season. (March 14-20) Vallejos helped the Gators sweep a doubleheader from crosstown rivals Academy of Art on Wednesday, March 16. In the two games, Vallejos went 6-for-8 with a double, a triple, two home runs, four RBI, and six runs scored. The sophomore from Reno opened the day by going 4-for-4 with 12 total bases. She had a triple, two home runs and scored all four times. In the nightcap, she started the comeback rally with the Gators trailing by two. She led off with a double in the bottom of the fifth as SF State scored three times to take the lead. Vallejos leads the CCAA in hits (43), runs scored (38), batting average (.453), and on-base percentage (.509). She has reached base safely in 27 of 28 games, and she is also tied for second in the league with 23 stolen bases. This is the second CCAA Player of the Week award for Vallejos during the 2022 season. She also collected the honor for the week of Feb. 14-20. San Francisco State will travel to Cal State San Marcos this week to face the first-place Cougars in a four-game set on March 25-26. The reigning CCAA Pitcher and Player of the Weeks will also go head-to-head this weekend when Vallejos faces the Cougars’ Savannah Coyle.
