Parker Williams earns first career CCAA Track Athlete of the Week award Mar 15, 2022 Share: Complete list of past winners >>> Parker Williams of Chico State has been named the CCAA Field Athlete of the Week for the week of March 7-13. Williams posted an NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark and new personal record with his winning time of 14.43 in the 110-meter hurdles at Saturday's Aggie Open, hosted by UC Davis. Harris' time is also the third-fastest in Chico State men's track and field history. Williams also helped the Wildcats' 4x400-relay team to a third-place finish in a time of 3:27.30 and placed fifth in the 400 meters (57.06). Williams' improvement since the 2020 season—shut down after only one run, which was the first for Williams at the collegiate level—has been astounding. He posted times of 16.97 in the 110-meter hurdles and 58.40 in the 400m hurdles that day in Turlock. Two years later, Williams returned to Turlock and posted times of 14.58 and 54.90 while winning both events. This week, Chico State will be at home to host the Wildcat Invitational (March 18-19).
