Nation's best hurdles time nets Ryan Fields CCAA Track Athlete of the Week award Mar 1, 2022 Share: Complete list of past winners >>> Cal Poly Pomona sophomore Ryan Fields has been named the CCAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 21-27. Fields won the 110-meter Hurdles event at the Rossi Relays in Claremont on Saturday, crossing the line in 14.19, which is currently the fastest time in NCAA Division II in that event this season. While it was also a NCAA Championship provisional-qualifying time, it becomes the fourth-fastest 110-meter Hurdles time in CPP men's track and field history. The sophomore from Los Angeles also ran as a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that finished second with a time of 3:20.15. This is the fourth-career CCAA Track Athlete of the Week award for Fields, he won the award twice in the COVID-shortened 2020 season and again late in the 2019 campaign. Cal Poly Pomona will head to Long Beach on Saturday to take part in the Beach Opener.
