Day 2 results from the CCAA Women's Track & Field Championships

SAN MARCOS, Calif. - Five more events went into the books, and five more champions were crowned on the second day of the 2026 CCAA Women's Track & Field Championships presented by Pollo Campero.
 
Cal Poly Pomona's Neshara Smith earned two golds on Friday, bringing her count for the championships to three in just two days. The senior from Bakersfield won the heptathlon with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 4758 points. She won four of the seven events and placed second in two others. Her teammate, Esme Pounder, finished second with 4219 points, and the next four places all went to Chico State.
 
Shortly after finishing the heptathlon, Smith moved to the high jump. She grabbed another gold medal and an NCAA provisional mark by clearing a career-best 5-6 (1.68m). It also garnered CPP 10 team points, and it was Smith's 30th point of the championships.
 
Cal State LA's Summer Stevenson won the triple jump with a Mangrum facility-record jump of 41-4.25 (12.60m). That mark is an NCAA provisional standard and her top mark of the season. Cal State San Marcos' Jordyn Brooks also hit the NCAA provisional standard with a mark of 40-0.25 (12.20m).
 
Four NCAA provisional standards were won in the 3k steeplechase. Cal Poly Humboldt's Isabel Perez-Zoghbi led the way, earning gold with a time of 10:42.59. Chico State's Olivia Beschorner finished second with a time of 10:44.48. Cal Poly Pomona's Miranda Palacios (10:52.36) took third, and Chico State's Zoe Aitken (10:58.46) finished fourth.
 
Alexis Nino repeated as the hammer champion and gave Stanislaus State its fourth consecutive conference title. Nino recorded a throw of 166-3 (50.68m) to outpace a duo from Cal Poly Pomona. Nino improved upon her championship throw from last season by nearly 7.5 feet (2.3m).
 
The day also saw the prelims for the 200m, 800m, and the 110m hurdles. Cal State San Marcos' Nadia Miechowicz won the 200m with a time of 23.98, and Cal Poly Pomona's Jessica James (24.05) finished second. Both times were NCAA provisionals.
 
Neshara Smith added another NCAA provisional mark in the 100m hurdles as she won the prelims with a time of 13.94. Cal Poly Pomona's Arissa Hatcher won the 800m with a time of 2:11.53.
 
The final day of the 2026 CCAA Championships presented by Pollo Campero will begin with the women's javelin at 10 a.m. The running events start at Noon with the 4x100m relays.
