Three long balls help Toros’ Quinn Johnson capture FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week honors

Cal State Dominguez Hills’ Quinn Johnson has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Player of the Week. (Apr. 6)

Johnson hit .538 (7-for-13) with a 2.010 OPS as the Toros battled Cal State San Marcos to a series split. The senior second baseman had two doubles, three home runs, five runs batted in, and five runs scored in the four games. He had both a hit and scored a run in every game of the series. 

In the series opener, Johnson reached base three times (walk, hit, hit by pitch), and he only got better as the series went along. He homered in both games of Friday’s doubleheader before collecting three hits and three RBI in the series finale, which CSUDH won 12-5. 

Johnson is hitting .351 this season. He ranks 10th in the CCAA in OPS (1.093), sixth in doubles (10), and tied for 11th in home runs (7). Click here to see CCAA baseball stats leaders
