Freshman Canon King grabs FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week honors for Cal State San Marcos

Canon King from Cal State San Marcos has been voted the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 13-19. 

King hit .500 (7-for-14) with six walks, two doubles, two home runs, a triple, nine runs batted in, and seven runs scored. The freshman from Los Angeles posted a 1.214 slugging percentage and a .696 on-base percentage in CSUSM's series win over Cal State East Bay. 

King began the series with a five-RBI game. He went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a home run. In the second game of the series, King had three walks, a home run, and three RBI. He concluded the series by going 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. 

King is now tied for sixth in the CCAA in home runs (12) and RBI (48). He ranks third in the conference in on-base percentage (.494) and slugging (.758). Click here to see CCAA baseball stats leaders

This is the first career CCAA Player of the Week award for King, and it's the second for CSUSM in 2026. He is the first CSUSM freshman to ever win the award. Click here to see the complete list of weekly award winners

The Cougars sit third in the CCAA standings (26-13, 13-11 CCAA). This week, it will face fourth-place Cal State LA (25-20, 15-13 CCAA) in a four-game series starting on Friday. All four games are scheduled to be available on FloCollege.
