Combined shutout earns Cal State LA’s Ismael Quintero FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week

Cal State LA’s Ismael Quintero has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 6-12. 

Quintero tossed a career-high seven shutout innings and helped Cal State LA post its first nine-inning shutout since 2018 in a 2-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills. 

The 2025 CCAA Freshman of the Year, who pitched in relief last season, allowed only three hits - all singles - in the series opener with two walks and seven strikeouts. He ended the game not allowing a hit in the final four innings, while retiring 12 of the final 13 batters he faced. 

The Lancaster, Calif., native is now third in the CCAA in strikeouts (49) and sixth in innings pitched (46.1). Click here to see CCAA baseball stats leaders
