Dom Dominguez wins FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week after Cal State San Bernardino sweep

Dom Dominguez from Cal State San Bernardino has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 16-22. 

Dominguez was an instrumental part of the Coyotes’ lineup, which posted 62 runs in the four-game sweep of Cal State LA. He batted .571 (8-of-15) with two doubles, three home runs, 10 runs batted in, and nine runs scored. Dominguez finished the series with a .700 on-base percentage and a 1.357 slugging percentage. 

The catcher had a two-home run, five-RBI game in the third game of the series to lead CSUSB to a 12-9 win. Dominguez concluded the series by going 4-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and four runs scored as CSUSB set the school record for runs in a game (29).

The Victorville, Calif., native leads the CCAA in on-base percentage (.532) and is second in runs batted in (39). He is also third in home runs (10) and runs scored (32). Click here to see CCAA baseball stats leaders

With the sweep, CSUSB moves into third in the CCAA standings (7-5). The Coyotes will play La Verne (Mar. 24) and Utah Valley (Mar. 28-29) in non-conference games this week. It will return to CCAA play on Apr. 2-4 at Chico State. All four games are scheduled to be available on FloCollege.
