Cal Poly Pomona’s Matt Lorenzano claims FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week Mar 16, 2026 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal Poly Pomona’s Matt Lorenzano has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of Mar. 9-15. Lorenzano was excellent in the series finale on Sunday, throwing 7.0 scoreless innings against Chico State to secure the series win. He struck out seven batters while only allowing three hits, and did not issue a walk on 95 pitches. Lorenzano retired the first nine batters of the game in order, and he had five three-up, three-down innings. Chico State loaded the bases against him with one out in the fourth inning, but Lorenzano was able to start a 1-2-3 double play and get a strikeout to escape trouble without allowing a run. The senior right-hander now leads the CCAA with 34 strikeouts, and he is fourth in innings pitched (32.1). Click here to see CCAA baseball stats leaders.
