ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - The Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) has announced that Cal State San Marcos'
Madison Murr has been named the West Region winner for 2024-25 Scholar-Athletes of the Year awards.
Each of the winners advanced to the national ballot for consideration for the 2024-25 Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Murr posted a near-perfect grade point average as an Environmental Studies major while winning the NCAA Division II Individual Championship and leading her team into the NCAA Championships. Murr won the 2024-25 WGCA Division II Inkster Award (awarded annually to the highest-ranked women’s collegiate golfer in their final year of eligibility) and was named the PING WGCA co-Player of the Year after averaging only a 70.8 adjusted scoring average.
Conference offices were permitted to submit one male and one female nominee for the overall awards. Upon receipt of all nominees, voting was conducted by the commissioners within each of the following regions – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, Southeast, South Central and West – to select the following regional winners.
