Cal State San Marcos’ Chloe Rahn led the Cougars to a dominating performance as she’s been tabbed as the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Golfer of the Week, for the week of Sept. 24-30.
Playing as an individual entry, Rahn shot a 3-under 213 to win medalist honors at the Lady Bulldog Desert Classic at Avondale. The three-round tournament was hosted by Union (Tenn.) in Palm Desert, Calif.
Rahn, a junior from Los Angeles, was one of two players to shoot under par for the tournament. She was the only golfer to write down an under-70 score — a 68 in round two on Sunday. It was Rahn’s first career tournament title. Click here to see results from the tournament.
While Rahn’s score didn’t contribute to the team tally, Cal State San Marcos, ranked No. 9 in the latest WGCA poll, won the team championship. The Cougars scored +11, 875 to win by 34 strokes over Point Loma for their second straight team win in as many tournaments.
This is Rahn’s first CCAA Golfer of the Week award. Click here to see a complete list of past weekly award winners.
CSUSM will be in action next on Oct. 13-14 at the NCAA West Regional Preview at Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colo.
