Hernandez, Foster and Murr all earn WGCA All-American honors

Jun 18, 2025

Madison Murr, Avery Foster, and Kiara Hernandez capped off their 2024-25 seasons with a selection to the WGCA All-America Team.

Cal State San Marcos had two of the three All-Americans, as Murr earned first-team honors and Hernandez collected an honorable mention selection. Sonoma State's Avery Foster was named a second-team All-American.

Madison Murr put together one of the greatest seasons in CCAA history. She won the NCAA Individual Championship with a 14-under par 202 and was named the Division II PING WGCA Co-Player of the Year. Murr won five of the nine tournaments she participated in, including the CCAA Championship powered by Under Armour. The Los Alamitos native averaged 71.1 strokes per round, was the No. 1 ranked golfer in the West Region, and was No. 3 in NCAA Div. II. This is the third consecutive season Murr has been selected as an All-American. She is the first women's golfer in the history of the CCAA to earn the honor in three seasons.

Avery Foster helped lead the Sonoma State women's golf team to its first NCAA West Regional appearance since 2019. The junior from Clovis, Calif., averaged 72.7 strokes and was the No. 19-ranked golfer in NCAA Div. II. She won the WT Desert Invite and the Sonoma State Fall Invitational. She added three other top 5 finishes. Foster is Sonoma State's first WGCA All-American.

Kiara Hernandez joined Cal State San Marcos at the start of the spring semester, and she had an immediate impact on one of the nation's top teams. Hernandez helped lead CSUSM to its sixth consecutive CCAA Championship while averaging 73.6 strokes. She had top 3 finishes at the WT Desert Invite (second) and the CCAA Championships (third). Hernandez was named the CCAA Newcomer of the Year and contributed to the Cougars' advancement to the medal match play portion of the NCAA Championships. This is only the third time in CCAA history that a pair of teammates earned All-American recognition.
