SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Cal State Monterey Bay dropped its NCAA Regional game to Westmont 8-1. The Otters will now have to defeat the Warriors twice on Saturday to advance to next week's Super Regional.

A home run by KW Quilici in the sixth inning ended the shutout and brought Cal State Monterey Bay within three (4-1). Westmont tacked on four more insurance runs in the eighth to win 8-1.

Bryan Peck earned the win. He went 6.1 innings, allowing five hits and one earned run. The right-hander walked two and struck out four. Caden Beloian collected the save as he pitched the final 2.2 innings without allowing a run.

The teams will return to action on Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. The Otters will need to defeat Westmont in back-to-back games to earn their second consecutive trip to the NCAA Super Regional.
