Tank Rodriguez earns FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Player of the Week honors

Cal State San Bernardino’s Tank Rodriguez has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Player of the Week. 

The junior infielder had a big weekend with the bat to lead Cal State San Bernardino to a series win over Cal State LA and keep the Coyotes’ playoff hopes alive. Rodriguez went 7-for-17 (.412) with a double, three home runs, eight RBIs, and seven runs scored. He also walked once and was hit by a pitch for a .474 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. He had hits and scored runs in every game of the series. 

In the first two games of the series, he had two hits, including a home run, and three runs scored. He then went 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs scored in game 3. He closed out the series with a home run and three RBI as CSUSB outscored CSLA 37-12 over the final two games. 

Rodriguez is now hitting .344 with four home runs and 21 RBI. He has taken over the starting third base role. Click here to see CCAA baseball stats leaders
