Toros’ Quinn Johnson powers his way to FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Player of the Week

This week’s FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Player of the Week award goes to Quinn Johnson from Cal State Dominguez Hills. 

The Toros' third baseman had a monster series at the plate against Cal State San Bernardino, going 13-for-19 (.684) with four doubles, two home runs, six runs scored, and 12 runs batted in as CSUDH took three of four games. Johnson posted a .684 batting average, a .700 on-base percentage, and a 1.211 slugging percentage. He registered four multi-hit games and crossed the plate in every contest. Johnson struck out just once and added a hit-by-pitch while posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

In the opener, Johnson reached base four times as he went 3-for-4 and was hit by a pitch. He posted two doubles, four RBI, and a run scored. He came back on Friday to post a four-hit game in the opener before going 2-for-3 in the nightcap. His best game came in the series finale. Johnson went 4-for-7 with a double, two home runs, and seven RBI as the Toros defeated the Coyotes 23-19 thanks to a 10-run, ninth-inning comeback. 

Johnson is now batting .335 and leads the Toros with 37 RBI and 89 total bases. He tied for seventh in the CCAA in home runs (8) and is third in sac flies (3). Click here to see CCAA baseball stats leaders
