Cal State LA’s Brandon Gutierrez named FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week Mar 3, 2025 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Brandon Gutierrez from Cal State LA has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of Feb. 24-Mar. 2. The sophomore tossed a one-hit seven-inning shutout to lead Cal State LA to a 6-0 win in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader. Gutierrez walked three and struck out five while allowing only an infield single in the fourth inning. After issuing a one-out walk in the fifth, he retired the last eight batters of the game to earn his first win of the season. The right-hander from Rancho Cucamonga is now eighth in the CCAA with a 3.38 ERA and is one of only two student-athletes to record a shutout. Click here to see the CCAA baseball stats leaders.
