Cal State LA’s Brandon Gutierrez has been voted the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of Mar. 17-23.

Gutierrez tossed the program's first no-hitter since 2007 and the fifth in program history. The sophomore right-hander worked around three errors and four walks to record to earn a 7-1 win at Cal Poly Pomona in the seven-inning nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader. An error led to an unearned run in the first inning, but Gutierrez breezed over the final six innings and picked up his fourth consecutive win. He finished with six strikeouts.

The complete game lowered his season earned run average to 2.78. He ranks fifth in the CCAA in ERA, fourth in WHIP (1.09), and leads the conference in hits allowed per nine innings (6.06). Click here to see CCAA baseball stats leaders

This is Gutierrez's second CCAA Pitcher of the Week. He picked up his first earlier this month on Mar. 3. It is the third CCAA weekly honor for Cal State LA. Click here to see the complete list of weekly award winners.

The Golden Eagles swept the four-game series at Cal Poly Pomona and are now second place in the CCAA standings at 11-5 (14-12 overall).
