Cal State LA’s Alberto Prado hit .714 to claim the FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week honors for the week of Mar. 10-16.

The senior first baseman went 10-for-14 to help the Golden Eagles take three of four games from San Francisco State. Prado posted a .765 on-base percentage and a .929 slugging average. He homered, drove in four runs, scored five times, and walked twice.

Prado registered three games with at least three hits, including the series opener when he went 4-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored. He also scored runs in every game and had RBI in three contests. In the only game he did not get a hit, Prado reached base in all three plate appearances as he drew two walks and was hit by a pitch.

The 10 hits pushed his batting average to .469 and on-base percentage to .514. Prado does not have enough plate appearances to qualify for the CCAA leaderboard, but he would be leading the conference in average and rank fourth in on-base percentage.  Click here to see CCAA baseball stats leaders

This is the first career CCAA Player of the Week award for the Pacoima, Calif., native. He joins Brandon Gutierrez (Mar. 3) as the two Golden Eagles to receive CCAA weekly honors in 2025. Click here to see the complete list of weekly award winners.
