Dylan Esquival from Cal Poly Pomona earns FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week honors after dealing a shutout

Cal Poly Pomona’s Dylan Esquival has been voted the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of Feb. 17-23. 

Esquival threw a complete game shutout in the seven-inning game of Saturday’s doubleheader against No. 15 Cal State Monterey Bay. The junior left-hander gave up six hits and one walk to the defending CCAA champions in his best career start. After giving up two hits in the first inning, he retired nine consecutive batters. He is one of only two CCAA student-athletes this season to record a complete game.

The Broncos will go on the road this week to face Chico State on Feb. 28-Mar. 2.
