CSUSB’s Jacob Mejia bashes his way to FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week honors

Cal State San Bernardino’s Jacob Mejia was named the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 10-16. 

Mejia hit .600 as the Coyotes swept a three-game series from Central Washington and outscored their West Region foe 62-23. Mejia went 6-for-10 with four walks, a double, two home runs, 11 runs batted in, and four runs scored. 

He collected hits in all three games, including three hits in the opener. However, his best game was the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday, as he drove in a CCAA season-best seven runs. He had an RBI groundout in the first inning and added RBI in the third and fourth before breaking the game open with a three-run homer in the fifth. He closed the series with another three-run home run and four RBI. 

The native of Palm Desert, Calif., is ranked among the leaders in nearly every CCAA offensive category. He paces the conference with 22 RBI and is second with four home runs. Mejia is also seventh in batting average (.457), eighth in on-base percentage (.583), and fifth in slugging (.886). Click here to see CCAA baseball stats leaders

Mejia is the third consecutive Coyote student-athlete to win CCAA Player of the Week honors to open the 2025 season. This is Mejia’s second career Player of the Week award (April 23, 2024). Click here to see the complete list of weekly award winners.
