POMONA, Calif. - The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos are the NCAA West Region Women's Soccer Champions for the second year in a row. (Nov. 29)
Angelina Rivas played the hero in the regional title match once again as she provided the only goal of the match in the 39th minute off an assist from Kiarra D'Arcangelo to defeat the No. 4 seed Azusa Pacific, 1-0.
Even before notching the goal, CPP was dominating the pace of play. The Broncos held APU without a first-half shot, while posting four of their own. Jenna Tetrault made two saves for CPP, and Alexia Muniz had two for Azusa Pacific.
Cal Poly Pomona has now won eight consecutive NCAA postseason matches. It will face the winner of Dallas Baptist and UC Colorado Springs on Sunday, Dec. 7.
